THE VIC247 STORY
Hi there! My name is Jen Worsham. I have worked in the dental field for 22 years, and VIC247 Dental Hygiene is my home-based clinic. I am a registered Dental Hygiene Practitioner.
In 2002 I became a receptionist for a busy orthodontic practice (a dentist who does braces). Very quickly I learned that dentistry is fascinating and complex. That September, I enrolled at Camosun College to take the Certified Dental Assistant course. A year later I began my career in Dental Assisting.
I worked for many types of specialists since 2003 and assisted for all kinds of procedures, including fillings, crowns & bridges, oral surgery & extractions, root canals, braces, dentures, and more. I took thousands of x-rays and impressions and personally made hundreds of temporary crowns.
In 2015 I returned to Camosun to further my education in the field of Registered Dental Hygiene. This was a long course of study, including pathophysiology, pharmacology, and a deep dive into non-surgical periodontal therapy.
My goal in returning to college was to open my own hygiene clinic where I could set the appointment times to fit my clients' specific needs. I wanted to be available when other offices were not, in order to help out people who work for a living.
In 2019, VIC247 Dental Hygiene was born. A place where a stat holiday or a Saturday is the perfect time to bring your family in for dental cleaning.
During the past 21 years, I have worked directly with over 70 dentists in Victoria. When you visit my clinic to receive dental hygiene, I am happy to collaborate with your regular dentist, sharing records and info about your particular case.
