VIC247 DENTAL HYGIENE COVID-19 POLICY
Your hygienist has received both doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine + all available boosters. =)
Lockdown may be over, but COVID is still around.
At VIC247 Dental Hygiene, infection control is taken very seriously. Universal precautions — according to the latest data and published best practices — are strictly adhered to.
If there are symptoms of illness, the appointment will be rescheduled.
Hand washing and/or alcohol gel is available to patients upon arrival.
Our COVID policies are those recommended by the Provincial Health Officer and the College of Dental Hygienists of BC.
Hygienist wears a mask at all times during treatment. Nitrile (non-latex) gloves are used.
UV (ultraviolet) HEPA air filter runs continuously in operatory area.
Hygienist self-screens each morning for covid symptoms before beginning work day. If symptoms were to be present, the day would be rescheduled.

All "critical items" like dental instruments are packaged and sterilized under high heat pressure in a digital Statim brand autoclave (sterilizer). The autoclave is tested with live spore cultures on a weekly basis as required by the health authorities.
